memo to myself

Keep opening to this! --

He sees in the darkest dark, hears where there is no sound. In the midst of darkness, he alone sees the dawn; in the midst of the soundless, he alone hears harmony. Therefore, in depth piled upon depth he can spy out the thing; in spirituality piled upon spirituality he can discover the essence. So in his dealings with the ten thousand things he supplies all their wants out of total nothingness. -- Chuang Tzu

I see the dawn in the darkest dark.
I hear harmony where there is no sound.
I see the essence no matter the depth
and cleverness of the obfuscations.
I deal effectively and well
with the ten thousand things
by being as nothing.
I do this by giving myself totally
to the Way and its Virtue.

the birthing of humanity

Wittgenstein said, "Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must be silent." But whereof one can speak, one must speak.

Here is what I must speak:

Humans are moving into a higher consciousness, a wider and deeper Awareness. Do not keep looking at the daily news of murderous and stuporous insensitivity. That is the old consciousness. Humanity is on the move. A birthing is happening. The pressures of the womb, the womb of humanity, are increasing. We cannot stay in the foetal position to which we have become accustomed. It is time to be born. We are at the beginning of a consciousness change of humanity -- opening to the nondual rather than the dual is its longterm action.

the deep calls to the deep

Each of us is born into a particular world view, into a community of "believers" who from our first insuction of breath permeate us with "the way the world is." I suspect most of us on the planet do not question this sectarian world view and go through life happily believing "this is the way the world is" and, if we even think about it, feel sorry or angry or confused about those poor ignorant slobs out there who've got it all wrong.

My predilection, however, is to look at each major world view that exists on the planet, and to listen carefully to the worldviews expressed in the language and stance of each individual I meet. It is said that the deep calls to the deep. I have found that to be so.

It is as if the Deep (I capitalize here to refer to the deepest of the deep) opens its understandings, its wisdom to all peoples, all cultures; in effect, the Deep calls to the deep in each human clustering of tribal kin with that clustering's particular language and consciousness state. Then that cultural grouping describes the Deep and the wisdom of the Deep as clearly and poetically as possible given the group's language structure and conscious awareness.

I deeply enjoy reading and absorbing the reflections on and from the Deep that differ from my birth culture. As a result I have become a Zen Baptist Hindu Islamic Sufi Taoist Abrahamic Pagan Barbarian Jesusian Humanist Wankatankan Scientist Cosmologist. All those manifestations of the Deep call with one voice. There is such a thing, my psychology and psychiatry friends, as multiple personality order.

boomerang

"You, O so-and-so, are the effect of your cause" -- Ibn 'Arabi

Those words make my heart laugh at the vision of the circularity of ourselves. If I am the effect of my cause, I had better know what my cause is. And I do not mean how I was created or came into being. I mean my cause, that which I champion and campaign for.

For example, if my cause is to justify myself in my own eyes and in the eyes of others, then I am the effects of my eternal self-justifying, spinning in a sacrificial loop, and that which is sacrificed is my life.

If my cause is the opening of awareness to the knowing of the Wellspring of my being, then I am the effects of this awareness and this knowing, living with contentment, well-being, and happiness, yes, even joy, in an eternal relational loop, a friend of God. The effect of my cause is met and uplifted, soaring on a spiraling updraft into ever-greater intimacy and disclosure.

"You, O so-and-so, are the effect of your cause."

the hole that will not be filled

You have done well in life. You have your setup -- a place to sleep, food, transportation, a bathroom, clothes, all the stuff you need and more -- and still it does not satisfy. There is a hole in the middle of you. A vast gaping yawning hole. You distract yourself from it with friends, romance, music, family, staying busy and on the move, chocolate, alcohol, weed, prescription drugs, sex, politics, religion, your popsicle stick collection. But always when you let your guard down, there it is. The hole that cannot be filled.

What is this hole? I will tell you but you will fight against it. Or refuse to understand, which is a form of fight. This hole is your hole-liness, your holiness.

Holiness, a way of being that is out of favor and also drastically misunderstood, is not, as commonly viewed, an expansion of your personality into beatific realms, is not the you you think you are gloriously magnified. Nor is holiness that thing we project upon certain figures of the past and present with awe and admiration, something we aspire to, but know we will never have.

For holiness is not something you have, it is what you are. You are hole-y. What is this hole? It is you before you were born, before you put yourself together in the form of the magnificent and peculiar personality you are now -- the persona that refuses to be annihilated, that is terrified and angry at such a thought.

We speak of black holes and worm holes and the falling through them into other realities. They are real. And are "out there." And are "in here."

Hole-liness is opening without reservation and with total abandon to the hole that cannot be filled. "Behind" us and "within" us is sheer infinity. Hole-liness is acknowledging and opening as the infinity we are before we were born into form, the infinity we shall always be, and to which we shall return. That hole is your cosmic navel.

This is not a call to navel gazing as a life style. The world we are now "in" is a training arena, a place for action and doing, for learning by endeavor. Instead of shifting into anxiety or despair or both at the presence of the hole existing at your core, love it, appreciate it, draw upon its strength and power. No sword can cut it. No force on earth can even begin to touch it. Take time to be hole-y and move on through the day.

the synthronizing of spirit and matter (part 6)

God is a circle with no circumference whose center is everywhere. And each of us is that center. Our center is a center of the universe of existence. Our center and our Source's center are the same center. This is synthronicity.

boy theoscientist

My consciousness is a restless forming, a stellar cloud always assuming shape. Sifting and sensing understandings and placing them within a vast multi-dimensional matrix with no clear borders, a canonical analysis with the = sign flanked by long strings of weighted variables. And not just one equation but several, n + 1, always plus one, revolving around the same = sign like a giant pinwheel or exploding flower.

In the human realm I am a theoscientist (scientist = knower, theos = god), a knower of god, one whose avocation (there are no government grants for this) is to know God, which knowing, in its more prosaic form, consists partially of placing all thought structures known to and developed by man upon the vast matrix provided by my consciousness. Like every med and nursing student and student of psychology and psychiatry I become and carry the symptoms of every ease and dis-ease I study, bitten by each bug and "coming down" with its symptoms. How else to know these things but from inside out?

Each theology and atheology makes sense from within its parameters and one could easily become an avid enthusiast for its cause. Not me, george breed, boy theoscientist with his secret decoder ring and cosmic spyglass. I allow each a place within my heart while my consciousness sorts out their peculiarities, placing them in the proper stratosphero-dimensional realms of the canonical matrix.

My avocation as a theoscientist demands the use of all my instruments of knowing: heart, intellect, consciousness, attention, awareness. I greatly appreciate my avocation. It is far better (for me) than locking myself up in one of those thought structures and making its license plates. Besides, it all comes down to one thing, no matter how you slice it and dice it with your favorite spiritual veg-o-matic. Love.

Meanwhile, I go on with my research. It's who I am and what I do.

God's viral scan of my soul

I have many Bibles. Various translations and editions. No need to list them all. But there is only one translation that has me -- the King James version.

I love that Shakespearean English. I like calling God Thou. A lovely word expressing both intimacy and distance, an intoning and sounding of loving respect. Where would we be without our Maker, the one who is closer to us than our very breath?

The Bible cannot be understood unless it is read by the heart. Here is part of Psalm 139. It opens with an appreciative acknowledgment of God's viral scan of my soul.

O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.

Thou knowest my downsitting and my uprising,
thou understandest my thought afar off.

Thou compassest my path and my lying down,
and art acquainted with all my ways.

For there is not a word in my tongue,
but lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.

Thou hast beset me behind and before,
and laid thine hand upon me.

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

(Then the Psalm goes on to say that there is no escaping this viral scan, this thorough and loving search of one's innermost being.)

Whither shall I go from thy spirit?
or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there:
if I make my bed in helll, behold, thou art there.

If I take the wings of the morning,
and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

Even there shall thy hand lead me,
and thy right hand shall hold me.

If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me;
even the night shall be light about me.

Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee;
but the night shineth as the day:
the darkness and the light
are both alike to thee.

For thou hast possessed my reins:
thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.

I will praise thee;
for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:
marvellous are thy works;
and that my soul knoweth right well.

I appreciate (hold precious) this viral scan.
Through it I know who I am and what I am,
"for I am fearfully and wonderfully made . . .
and that my soul knoweth right well."

the intuitive field of awareness

The intuitive field of awareness in the congealing human today is exactly that, congealing. Human consciousness is becoming thicker jello every day. We are the intuitive-disabled. Dependent upon machines ever-increasingly, we will soon need a global positioning indicator to get out of our chair and navigate to the bathroom. "LEAN FORWARD WITH UPPER BODY. GOOD. CENTRAL WEIGHT IS NOW OVER FEET. FEET ARE FLAT DEVICES AT END OF BODY. PUSH AND RISE UP WHILE MAINTAINING BALANCE.", and so on until we reach our across - the - room - and - out - the - door destination.

The story has been told many times, but is no less true. The secular - materialistic, often under the guise of christianity, invaded the intuitive - spiritual (and still does), claimed and enforced power, and led us to our state of being today.

In our opaque density, we have forgotten where we came from, what on earth we are doing here, and where we are going. But this is no doomsday message. Though our cosmic awareness is as thick as a brick in this matter-ial age, there are still light-beings among us and more being born all the time. The tender shoots of intuitive awareness prosper and grow in the midst of this gnarled hardness -- forever breaking up our concretization of this world, this magical mysterious life-affirming ever-loving world.

Meanwhile let's go stare into our computer screens. In my jello-state, I know salvation is in there somewhere. Hmmm... Spider Solitaire must be like this nerve-ahnah thing I heard about. "ALERT! ALERT! CONSCIOUSNESS SHUTDOWN! ALERT! FIND FEET! FIND FEET!"

let me try to be clearer

Some don't know what the heck I am talking about in my posts. Let me try to be clearer, though the harsh direct light of the noon sun makes everything look flat. The enchanted and mysterious becomes horizontal boring scape, like driving on a two-lane straight flat desert road for hours with no coffee, music, or chocolate. The mind tends to drift to sleep. Poetry becomes prose, a manual of instruction written in English by a person with a different birth language.

But here goes. Take One: The World of Appearances
  1. At least two major worlds co-exist.
  2. One of them is the world of appearances.
  3. The world of appearances is constructed by humans agreeing this is this and that is that and this will never become that, nor that become this.
  4. It is considered impolite to mention that the world of appearances is created by human reflection and agreement.
  5. Most humans live within the world of appearances.
  6. Living in the world of appearances is considered as sane.
  7. Living in a world created by human reflection and agreement is considered sane.
  8. To live outside the world created by human reflection and agreement is considered insane and those who do so are considered to be either fools or holy or both and are fair game to be labelled as dangerous.
  9. Those who live outside the world of appearances consider those who live inside and who don't know they live inside to be asleep, in some kind of stupor.
  10. Those who live outside the world of appearances either leave those who live inside totally alone, passing by them every day unrecognized, or try to communicate with the appearance-world dwellers.

What I just wrote seems way too simplistic and is definitely written in the language of prosaic reflection, but otherwise I just go off into semi-mystical poesy which is not understood unless you already understand.

the synthronizing of spirit and matter (part 2)

Synthronicity is a word that appeared as I sat quietly in the early morning hours. Having not heard of it before, I pondered its meaning.

I knew syn-chron-icity meant occupying the same time (chronos), occurring simultaneously. Syn-thron-icity means sitting on the same seat (throne) occupying the same space simultaneously. I caught the image of the Source, of God sitting on my lap as I sat upon its/his lap. Musical chairs with only one chair and at such a high rate of speed of exchange that both participants are winners. It struck me as quite humorous and still does.

The synthronicity or synthronizing of spirit and matter means that spirit and matter occupy the same space. In effect and in truth, they are one. Matter is dense spirit (life force); spirit is light matter. Two "ends" of a spectrum, and guess who is in the middle? That would be you. You are the musical chair upon which spirit and matter synthronously, reverberatingly, entertainingly sit. You are a holy trinity. You three are one.

no one dancing in the streets

The universe is embodying as us!

Jesus called it I-and-my-father-are-one!

Teilhard de Chardin, that wild-man Jesuit priest, paleontologist, chemist, physicist, botanist, zoologist, geologist, and theologian-philosopher called it a cosmic process of personalization.

Raimundo Panikkar calls it cosmotheandric.

I call it embodying Spirit.

Our part in this is to provide this I-Father-oneness, this cosmic process of personalization, his cosmotheandrism, this embodying of Spirit with room, ditching our self-made bounds.

Why this is not front-page news and on every blog and facebook and tweeting twitter I do not know. Nor is it taught in kindergarten or universities.

The universe is embodying as us!

We are the universe embodying!

The Source is embodying as us! We are the Source embodying!

We don't get it, do we?
Sighhhh....
Do you know why I know we don't get it?
I see no one dancing in the streets.

"Too many human beings are too well adjusted; they accept the world exactly as they find it and their act of living is an act of mimimum adjustment. They feel no interest in the possibilities of the universe." -- Colin Wilson, Rasputin and the Fall of the Romanovs

muse-ician

When we think we know something, we don't know anything. And thinking we know nothing is the same as thinking we know something. Both of these are conditioned or condition-al thinking: thinking upon or under certain conditions.

Thinking that spontaneously arises, unconditioned thinking, does not think it knows something or nothing. Unconditioned thinking is in harmony with IS. This is what I mean when I say I am listening to the Muse -- being a Muse-ician.

the integral

We humans have 3 major languages: the sensual - emotional, the rational, and the integral (the intuitive intellect). The first two speak to our Source. The third speaks with our Source. While honoring the truthfulness of the first two (within their realms), contact with our Source is in and with the third, the realm of integrity. The integral speaks, walks, moves with the Integral. No distinction. No separation.

reflections on Christ-consciousness

Eternal birth takes place within us eternally. Christ-consciousness is the eternal birthing as well as the awareness of the eternal birthing. Christ-consciousness is not consciousness (awareness) of Christ out there somewhere, but is having the same consciousness as Christ. This has very little to do with being a christian. It is about being a Christ.

"Put on the whole armor of God" is superseded by "become Christ consciousness." David threw away Saul's armor and wore his everyday clothes in dealing with the exigencies of life. When in Christ-consciousness, we wear no armor. We are clothed in and are radiant awareness, awareness radiating in all directions, nothing excluded, open to continuous transformation. Eternal birth is taking place within us and as us eternally.

Dualistic consciousness is consciousness in and of opposition. This is opposed to that, thus each is defined, defined by opposition. Dualistic consciousness is an oppositional world. This is the normal everyday consciousness of many, if not most folk on earth today.

Nondualistic consciousness transcends opposition. The sage walks undisturbed because neither the horn of the wild ox nor the claw of the tiger can find an entry point. Jesus wore a seamless robe.

Nondualistic consciousness is Christ consciousness: nondualistic consciousness incarnate (embodying as meat). As meat, we open to nondualistic awareness. To that extent, we are in-carne-ations of God.

"God completely gives himself to all with all that he is. For it would be foolish to rely on and expect only half a communication from God." -- Meister Eckhart

the unfolding of the cosmos

Each of us plays a part in the unfolding of the Cosmos. Each of us is a radiant sphere of energy, a vibrational field extending outward in all directions.

The quality of the energetic field, the vibrational sphere that we are, depends upon whether, at any given moment, we are centering or off-center. When off-center, we radiate influences of despair and confusion. When centering, we vibrate coherently with the Cosmos and the process of its evolutionary unfolding.

Just as a cell in the body cannot quite grasp the enormity of the consequences of its resonance or dissonance in its functioning, nor quite grasp a vision of the body it is helping produce, neither can we grasp the enormity and the magnificence of the cosmic unfolding in which we are blessed to play a part.

As we go, so goes the Cosmos. Our Source is mysterious in the birthing of Itself and we are both midwives and that which is being born.

earth walking

We go to our churches, we go to our malls, we go to our restaurants, we travel in our cars and planes, we live in our towns, we live in our cities, and we forget about Earth. We forget. We forget we are Earth. We forget we spring from Earth. We forget we are Earth walking.

I do not speak here of recycling or ecology or us eating the Earth with our large gaping maws.

I speak of our souls, of our knowing who we are. We are Earth walking. A synvergence of Ocean and Air and Dirt and Fire walking.

From Earth we are born and to Earth we shall return. It is then true recycling will occur.

We are Earth. We are Earth walking.

what if

What if we proceeded from the point of view that the Origin, the Source did not deliberately and magically assume the form of Jesus and walk around looking at Judea and Samaria and saying hello? What if we proceeded from the point of view that Jesus was of more advanced consciousness, of greater awareness than other humans of his time, a harbinger of forthcoming states of consciousness that would someday be considered the norm? What if Jesus is a trailblazer of what Panikkar has called the cosmotheandric (and what I call coherent) consciousness state? What if the consciousness state of Jesus is being replicated on earth today? What if some humans on earth today feel and know they are direct manifestings of the Source? What if some humans feel and know they are in direct energetic relationship with all life? What if this energetic relationship, this infinite interwhirling is called Love?

when I say

As soon as I say a word, I call worlds into action. When I say the word God, I set up all kinds of happiness and dilemmas, pains and resolutions. When I say Origin, I am propelled into riding my cosmic bicycle with its rear-view mirror. When I say Wellspring, I am a bubbling springing forth of energizing flow. When I say Me, I come to a screeching halt, funnel in, begin to circulate within my wastewater treatment plant. When I say Us, I am in familial relations of disharmonious harmony. When I say Body, I am both a sensitive, skittish horse and a meta-galactic endeavor. As soon as I say a word, I call worlds into action.

the release of the vict ticks

Our convict-ions make us convicts -- members of a chain gang -- a chain of logic and illogic to which we are firmly bound. The only escape is to become un-convict-ed -- to stop con-ning ourselves into vict-imhood -- to release ourselves and move into probe-ation, where we once again wander freely with no bounds, no bindings.

Becoming un-convicted takes a certain amount of wakeful fearlessness. Otherwise we stay attached to our convictions like sluggish bloated ticks to a decaying carcass. We look around at other ticks sucking away and feel a false safety in the tick horde.

This is the age, the era, the time for dropping chains and opening to a larger, vaster realm. We stand in infinity and infinity is our stance.
