Synthronicity is a word that appeared as I sat quietly in the early morning hours. Having not heard of it before, I pondered its meaning.
I knew syn-chron-icity meant occupying the same time (chronos), occurring simultaneously. Syn-thron-icity means sitting on the same seat (throne) occupying the same space simultaneously. I caught the image of the Source, of God sitting on my lap as I sat upon its/his lap. Musical chairs with only one chair and at such a high rate of speed of exchange that both participants are winners. It struck me as quite humorous and still does.
The synthronicity or synthronizing of spirit and matter means that spirit and matter occupy the same space. In effect and in truth, they are one. Matter is dense spirit (life force); spirit is light matter. Two "ends" of a spectrum, and guess who is in the middle? That would be you. You are the musical chair upon which spirit and matter synthronously, reverberatingly, entertainingly sit. You are a holy trinity. You three are one.

Synthroniscopic meditations...
ReplyDeleteThe term you've shared aptly describes a moment that I experience within a rather visual meditative state: I sit down exactly where the Buddha is sitting--against the trunk of a magnificent tree that bears a Golden fruit. We (Brother Ass and the Buddha) occupy the same space at the same time.
This nexus is pure joy to witness...
Blessings, George.

On the matter of Spirit and Matter:
ReplyDeleteGravity (by John Mayer)
Gravity is working against me
And gravity wants to bring me down
Oh I'll never know what makes this man
With all the love that his heart can stand
Dream of ways to throw it all away
Oh Gravity is working against me
And gravity wants to bring me down
Oh twice as much aint twice as good
And can't sustain like a one half could
It's wanting more
That's gonna send me to my knees
Oh gravity, stay the hell away from me
And gravity has taken better men than me (Now how can that be?)
Just keep me where the light is
Just keep me where the light is
Keep you all where the light is
Just keep us where the light is
Ohh.. where the light is!

Wow! I googled John Mayer -- lovely bluesy soul song music. The lyrics ain't half-bad either. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI like the words, too, George. In the context of spirit and matter, Gravity will win this war with our bodies, eventually. That which has kept our feet on the ground (no matter how high we've tried to fly) and causes our bodies to bend and sag will ultimately pull us right on into the ground. It will take us all down. But that's just our "Brother Ass," not really us. Wanting more material from the material world is like gravity. Our thinking minds fall prey to the hawkers who tell us we need more so we buy more and it becomes a force unto itself, a black hole that can never be filled. All that does is weigh us down more, literally and figuratively. We help gravity wear us down in that regard. But our spirits are immune from the forces of gravity, immune from all forces of the physical world. Our spirits can be down, yes, but physical gravity won't kill our spirits and suck us in. I used to think that if the material world is the illusion and the spiritual world is the reality, why not quit the material world all together and go back to the spiritual world for good. But that can't be the answer. It can't be as simple as quitting. I don't have an answer to what is the purpose for being in or staying in both realms at the same time. In the meantime, keep me where the light is, above ground; stay the deep, dense hell of centered suffering from me; and leave me with the lightness of a living spirit.
