In the realm of spirit, it is important to not look at or look for the fruits of our actions, not only because we drop immediately into a second-order reality, but we are diverted into a realm of being whose only fruit is the looking for fruit.
I like this. Its interesting that you mention it...because I've been conversing with others over at Sophia's blog about our consciousness. I was thinking about that bible verse that says a good tree produces good fruit and a bad tree produces bad fruit (something like that)...others made bible references too. But i like what you said here... Thank you! (((Hugs)))
Good advise here. As a writer, I'm often caught up in looking for approval of my work, not to mention the check in the mail. But in reality, I am being diverted from the fact that I write because I am a writer; that's what we do.
Thanks for the reminder, George. And happy V-day! It's good to be alive and free and to remember those who are no longer among us.
"Renounce your attachment to results", Ghandi once told his followers. That is certainly not how I was taught to live, but when I practice that idea, I am amazed how the scene before me changes.
A very wise man once said, "Breathe the Love that breathes you". When you live that way, the fruit of your labor takes care of itself. You don't need to look for or at it. (Hey! Aren't you that very wise man?!?!)
Happy Veterans Day, George!! Thanks for your service to our country!!
Hey, blog buddies, I appreciate your humor, your lovingkindness, your sincerity, and your willingness to disclose your own thoughts and feelings.
Yes, Blessings to all those veterans of every discipline, stripe, color and persuasion who have sacrificed and do sacrifice to make our planet a better place.
I still struggle with this one! Maybe someday I'll be illumined enough to work it out.

looking for the fruits of our own actions would be... "Compassion for one's own linear situation helps produce linear or horizontal thinking." ???
ReplyDeletei think i get it. (that would be the selfishness that you once mentioned in one of your blogs awhile back)

Yes, I am a fruit fly. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteLooking at the fruits of our actions is looking in the past. It is not being in the now. Let's just be NOW! LG
