no limp biscuit

Jesus said: If they ask you, "Where are you from?" reply to them, "We have come from the place where light is produced from itself. It came and revealed itself in their image." -- The Gospel of Thomas

Jesus was no limp biscuit, no weenie, no corpse on a stick to be waved around. He was a revolutionary, a spiritual bomb thrower.

When I used to pedal around the country (South Dakota, Minnesota, Canada, Montana, Wyoming) on my red Schwinn, I would invariably be asked, "Where did you come from?" My answer at that time was "From my mother's womb." I like Jesus's answer better. "I come from the place where light is produced from itself."

We are streamings of light from the light source, the source which continues to birth itself. "It comes and reveals itself in our image."

No need for an intermediary. Direct connection. An embodying of spirit, of the energy and power of light. Illumination. (Mister Jesus said in another place: "You are the light of the world.")

Our conscious awareness, that flows from the heartmind that we are, is this light that blazes with understanding and love, a love that is terrifying in its simplicity and directness. A love that slices through all spiritual correctness and leaves us naked, free, and trembling in breathtaking vastness.

The source light has tremendous explosive and transformational power. It will blow up all our suppositions and our doctrines and our creeds. It cannot be contained in a safe little receptacle to be trotted out one day a week or year.

The light is not only a matter of life and death. It is life and death. We are its personification.

  1. IT IS VAST and beautiful. Words fail to handle the essence. There is only a certain resonance when spirit is touched. Thanks for your expressions George.
