Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes. --Song of Solomon 2:15
It's the little foxes that eat the grapes. The sneer of disdain. The smirk of judgment. The sigh of disapproval. The eyeroll of condemnation. The voice tone of impatience.
They are the killers. The killers of our vines, of our tender grapes.

ReplyDeleteit says: "Take us the foxes,"..
ReplyDeletemeaning don't judge ourselves? is that what it means?
it can mean that -- one translation is "Catch the foxes" so they don't eat the grapes -- which could mean catch your own sneers and sighs and eyerolls and all those little foxes.
