"... but what can be said for our knowledge of man, of homo sapiens, so long as we know nothing of the invisible regions that have been explored nor of the explorers themselves?" -- Henry Corbin, Spiritual Body and Celestial Earth
How startled we are when we discover that the "exterior" world, the world of appearance, is a veil covering Vast Reality; that the world we count on is but a symbolic world arising from the Vast Infinite, a metaphorical world pointing to the Deep Realms that birth it.
The babe is lying in the manger, and we tend to worship the manger, the eatery.
But this is not a wailing and a flailing of humanity. This is a reminder. We live in a world of appearance produced by our limited sensory information and our limited structural thought.
Each of us is the babe born in the manger, a babe with all the forces of the Divine within it and behind it, backing it; a babe whose only job is to receive the spiritual energies that feed and nourish and to continue to grow in heartful wisdom and understanding. Right action naturally flows out of such nourishment.

Nice try sowing disorder to create order, George. :) We had to become dysfunctional to become functional at a higher level. This is because humans evolved advanced minds from other animals, and we are part of God's Plans whatever those are. You are correct that we are spiritual beings nourished and fed from the spirit, but we can't feel that most of the time because our minds distract us. But if we are lost in consuming, then why do people flock to Natural Parks and lakes? Why do people find a pebble or water drop dropping into a still pond interesting and soothing at the same time? Isn't that a reflection of Stillness?
ReplyDeleteIs it our minds or our egos that distract? Maybe when we sit back and observe and enjoy natural wonders of the physical our ego steps aside and stops interfering, even if just for a moment. Littlegeezer
