get this

Get this. You are your thoughts.
Know this. Change your thoughts, change you.
Glom on to this. The more you stare at a thought,
the more powerful it will get.

  1. Your post today brings to mind this scripture:

    2 Corinthians 10:3-5
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
    5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
    KJV

  3. Hi, George:

The Body "ALWAYS" follows the MIND.

  4. Hi, George:

Go figure, I read this post, made a comment, and then later opened a notebook and this is the first thing I read:

"The mind moves and regulates every part of the body, with the body ultimately reflecting our mental condition." - H.E. Davey "Brush Meditation: A Japanese Way to Mind & Body Harmony

  5. I like anonymous' "my thoughts are not me". And with that let's train ourselves to observe and pay attention to "not me" or "not me" will overshadow "me, we, thee". Littlegeezer.

  6. Smarts, ALWAYS good to hear from you. Ain't that the truth about reminders? It's like we have to keep booting up, or unbooting, whichever way you want to look at it.

  7. Ginny, I especially like that part of pulling down strong HOLDS, taking whatever is holding us right down to the mat where the PLAYING field is level. We give it a "noogie" and release it laughing.

  8. Charles, just makes us laugh the way the universe works. We see our own reflections everywhere. It's a fun house -- this house of mirrors.

Maybe a reason (though we don't need one) that the body follows the mind (which I'm sure you see and experience in the martial art realm) is because the body is in the mind, not the other way around.

  9. LG, at first I didn't get what you were saying. See if I got it right now -- since "my thoughts are not-me" (my thoughts = not-me), then let's not let our thoughts overshadow "me, we, and thee." Am I on the right track? Elucidate me here, bubba!

  10. Thoughts emanate from Silence and return to Silence. Most thoughts are just noise. A few are epiphanies. The best thoughts are tinged with Joy, Compassion, and Love. The worst thoughts are tinged with Anger, Fear, and Hatred. You are correct that thoughts are self-reinforcing. If one can break the thought chain, one is on the right path.
