the phys, the fizz, and the unborn

In studying humans, there is the study of the phys-iology (the study of dense matter that makes up the physical body) and the fizz-iology (the study of the carbonated bubbles or "fizz" that makes up the subjective self or ego).

My major interest is in neither, but in WHAT produces, gives birth to the physio and the fizzio. This WHAT is pointed to by some of the old Zen dudes as the Unborn.

Most psychologists study the physio and the fizzio, the surface manifestations of the Unborn. They treat the meat and they entertain the subjective story to which a person clings (folk swear adamantly they are the fizz).

I do not wish to "treat" anything, nor develop a "treatment" plan. My aim is and has always been to comprehend the Unborn, the Mystery out of which everything springs, which everything IS, and to which everything must return.

The physio, the meat, is doomed. The fizz is an illusion, a clever story of our "selves" to which we subscribe. I put my energies into opening to the wisdom and the knowledge of the Mystery.

  1. The Unborn is manipulating matter as a means to an end. While we are not consciously aware of the Unborn's Plan, we are aware of it subconsciously. If you are the lucky one who manages to awaken and know thyself consciously, then from what we know of Jesus, the Buddha, the Daoists, and all of those Zen dudes, you will be a conduit to awaken others. Evidently, the first step is to awaken the rest of mankind. However, mankind has this stubborn propensity to want to stay asleep and dream of gold and riches - to stay spiritualy poor chasing wet, wealthy, shallow dreams.

  2. One view of the Mystery's dance...

"Delight is the secret. Learn of pure delight and thou shalt learn of God. What then was the commencement of the whole matter? Existence that multiplied itself for sheer delight of being and plunged into numberless trillions of forms so that it might find itself innumerably." --Sri Aurobindo
