"Who can become learned unless he knows something for certain, and goes forward in that as a man advances from step to step, and so on successively into wisdom." -- Emanuel Swedenborg, quoted in D.T. Suzuki's Swedenborg: Buddha of the North, 54. (My emphasis)
As a result of experiences I had 58 years ago and other experiences since, I know for certain I exist outside the body, that the earth as viewed from the vantage point of "space" is a harmonious aliveness with a golden glow, that infinity is in every "direction," that all lines of demarcation and separation are simultaneously real and illusional, that something familiar and loving is breathing me, and that a higher wisdom exists that reveals itself as one allows the capacity.
