Forgiveness

Forgiveness has nothing to do with the other person. Forgiveness is a process that takes place entirely within yourself.

Unforgiveness is a a continuous holding of something against another person, a continuous holding of something against yourself. You are the one doing the holding. The holding is the unforgiveness. Holding anything after a while gets tiresome, wearisome, irritating, stressful.

Forgiveness is stopping holding. Forgiveness is releasing, releasing oneself from being stuck to the tarbaby of resentment and anger. Letting go.

The alternative is to stay unforgiving and drive nails into one's heart for the rest of one's life.

  1. George,
Great!. I beleive that forgiveness is the greatest tool one has in achiving enlightenment. To forgive is to accept, to know that it is and always has been in balance. That nothing is wrong, only the enternal dance of living.
