For many are called, but few are chosen. Matthew 22:14
Man is a witness who testifies against himself, whatever excuses he may offer. Koran 75:14-15
Some humans are simply that: human. Driven by desire, fear-anger, and stupor and seeing no world except the human-created. Not called, not called at all. Hearing no voice to be different, to rise higher.
Some are called and sporadically answer with yearnings and urgings for more than this societal material world. Making pledges and vows and forgetting them. Living in half-shadow half-light.
The chosen ones are the ones who choose. Choose to see the Divine, the Source, the Face. They would rather die than not see. Not seeing IS death. By choosing, they are chosen. They mirror what they see. The Face gazes upon their face. Snuggle with God and God snuggles with you.
This has little or nothing to do with religion. Religion can get in the way, can stop one short, satisfied with the partial.
These three categories are not necessarily three categories of people but three states of consciousness that each of us may inhabit at various times. We can transform and the Cosmos is willing to assist us. It takes faith, love and devotion -- the three "secrets" of alchemy.
When we have unwillingness, we "testify against ourselves, whatever excuses we may offer." We choose to be unchosen.
When we hear and answer the call with our heart and ears and vision, the outcome is certain. This is the grace of the Universe, of our Maker, of God.
For now we see through a glass darkly, but then face to face.
When we are ready, when we have the capacity, that then is now.

O SON OF BEING!
ReplyDeleteLove Me, that I may love thee. If thou lovest Me not, My love can in no wise reach thee. Know this, O servant.
