those of the feminine persuasion

In regard to When Jesus met Buddha, I notice only males have responded (and free-thinking ones at that!). Do not those of the feminine persuasion have thoughts upon this matter?

Note -- Just because it is listed down below this symbol of coexistence and these examples of Christian merge with varieties of human consciousness does not mean it is dead to comment.

  4. Dear George and Everyone: I love the article "When Jesus Met Buddha" and my first response was that this article and the book it comes from should get as much publicity as possible; that we must spread knowledge of this history. Then, last night during shivasana, as I was letting go, and then letting go a little more, I saw myself get into a panic and I had an "ah ha" moment. People start practicing a faith, start letting go, get into a panic and STOP. That's it. The extremists are in a panic to hold on, keep THEIR faith (only) and then even supposedly learned people (shame on the Pope for being so close-minded) fail to continue to open: to other thoughts, other faiths, other and new ways of being kind. The really groovy part of the article was how THESE times may be seen as the anamoly amongst the thousands of years (before and after now) where we did and do reach through our religions to embrace the best of each other and other faiths.

With the grace of God I hope to breathe through the little and big panics as they arise.

    Love, Lory O.

  5. Lory, I think you are touching on a powerful phenomenon when you write:

"People start practicing a faith, start letting go, get into a panic and STOP."

It is true every moment of our lives. We practice a faith that we are who we SAY we are and who we THINK we are and refuse to let our carefully constructed self-identity go. We go into a panic if it is threatened. Yet that identity is not much more than a drivers license in a wallet of a pocket of the cosmos.

Always good to hear from you.
