Though there is some evidence that Jesus was born in June rather than December, it is understandable that this time of year was designated for his birthday celebration. Not only was it a shrewd political move in the early Christian days for the celebration to coincide with the solstice ritual already celebrated by pre-Christian folk, but solstice is also a time for celebration of the end of the rule of the dark and the return, the re-emergence, the birth of the light.
Be that as it may, how about if now we changed Christmas to June? The weather would be much more conducive to travel. A much less stressful time in going to meet the family.
