embodying spirit

Embodying spirit means exactly what it says -- to actively purposefully embody the life force that brings all into existence. Spirit is a breath word -- inspire means an inbreathing, an inbreathing of creative energy -- aspire means an upward breathing -- expire is a final outbreathing -- a spiral is a vortex of living energy which goes up and down simultaneously -- and so on. Embodying spirit is a dynamic process -- an ongoing inrushing and outward expansion of the energies of the universe, of God, of our Source.

Embodying spirit means I no longer embody Little Georgie as my sole reason for being. He is still here, safe and protected, in the womb of spirit, but he no longer has his hands on the controls. If he did the name of this blog would be Embodying Little Georgie.

A name that has been given to one who embodies the lifeforce is mystic. I find that term a little off-putting. It implies a dreamer, one not in touch with "reality." I prefer warrior -- warrior of spirit. Jesus, Buddha, Muhammad, Lao Tzu, Abraham, Moses, Krishna -- all warriors.

Embodying spirit means to give UP -- to actively ask for and allow universe energies to pour through one's every cell from soles of feet upward and out one's crown -- to continuously let GO.

Embodying spirit means to get DOWN -- to be fully and firmly present in this form right here right now -- solidly anchoring in this ever-changing moment-um.

Embodying spirit means to give OUT -- holding nothing in reserve -- and it is precisely this nothing that allows continuous replenishing -- one now has CAPACITY, room for the ongoing everflowing of universal creative energy.

Embodying spirit means to give IN -- asking for and receiving the enlivening healing energies of that-which-breathes-us, of our Source into the depths of our being. "Deep calls to deep."

It takes a warrior -- one who faces and deals -- to embody spirit. It ain't for wusses. Your life is not your own. The amusing thing about it is it never was. And yet, though our lives are not our own, we are co-creators with God, with the WellSpring that continues to birth us.
